How the ladder works

When you beat a player, if they're ahead of you, you move up halfway to them. So if you're rank 99 and you beat rank 1, you move up to 50.
If you lose a game, there's no penalty.
Any bnet map counts toward the ladder although it's obviously true that GOW is the most popular map. If you can convince anyone above you to 1s on another BNE then that works fine too for climbing the ladder.
Number 1 player gets a cool icon: #1 Ladder Icon
Earn money for defending the #1 ladder position! (Check rules here)

in my opinion there should be - 10 position if player A lose his place to player B 3->2 2->12

SPB is pretty good @ 1's... he's played like 10,000 1v1's in just the last couple years.

I mean I'll have a much harder time beating ST than SPB and any ratio I have vs SPB will not be reflected vs ST. I guess it boils down to play style

SPB is a 'simcity style' war2 player. Boring games. This is why he likes HSC I suppose. His simcity tactics could work vs viet in games where he one hall powers or does random shits

It's pretty ridiculous that so many players consider spb a bad player. He's always in the top 5 in ladder and even reached #1 once. I bet there's less than 10 active players  with an winning record vs. him.
